FAQs

How much time off work do I need?

You can expect to experience soreness for about 1 week after the procedure but could potentially be back at work in as little as few days after the surgery.

Do I need local or general anaesthetic?

We provide oral and gas sedation for wisdom tooth extraction.

Oral sedation involves taking a sedative pill that provides strong anaesthesia while you stay awake. Nonetheless, it is likely you will feel drowsy and not remember much of the procedure.

Gas sedation (happy gas) helps to reduce anxiety during the procedure.

Although you will recover quickly from the sedation, you cannot drive home and so you will need an alternative method of returning home.

Do I need to get my wisdom tooth removed?

Some people put up with the discomfort of painful wisdom teeth for many years before seeking an extraction. The pain can be managed with over the counter pain killers like paracetamol.

However, not removing wisdom teeth can have long term implications. Recurring infections can lead to sore jaws, migraine and even gut problems.

Over crowding of the back wisdom teeth can also cause the front teeth to become crooked. This could require expensive straightening treatments to correct in the future.

I cannot recommend this practise enough! Lovely, clean practise, caring, friendly staff and that's all before you even see a dentist!
I have never been a fan of dentists but after being a patient of Dr Khalil I recommend him to all my family and friends, especially those with children. Dr Khalil really does practice what reproaches....PAIN FREE! I use to dread going to the dentist but now dare I say, I actually look forward to it!

Dr Raisa was extremely gentle and made me feel very comfortable when I went in for my 6 month check-up and clean, got a couple of X-rays done too .. Dr Raisa took the time to explain these too me. she is very caring :) the space is awesome and everything is clean and comfortable! They are very flexible with appointment times as well! Five stars!
